As a key protective facility of metro civil air defense works, it separates protection units. If one unit loses its protective capacity during wartime, other units can still function normally. It defends against shock waves from nuclear and conventional weapon explosions, as well as various chemical agents, preventing casualties and equipment damage caused by hazards spreading from damaged units.
